Can it be true? Sanjaya is gone?

Is it really true? Is Sanjaya really gone? I was about to give up on American Idol this season. Now don't get me wrong, I don't hate Sanjaya. But I started worrying when he came up on the Vote for the Worst radar. Too many were voted off before he should have been. I'll give him Latin week. But it all went downhill again this week with "Let's Give Them Something to Talk About."

What surprised me more was Lakisha being in the bottom three. We'll see what happens next week. I am sure a lot of Lakisha fans got lazy thinking she was safe. There will most likely be a surge of votes for her next week. Happens every year.

And good for Melinda for sitting down! I knew Ryan was going to ask her to do that. That was a stunt they pulled last year, if I remember correctly, when Chris Daughtry was still on the show.

I was on the phone when the show started tonight and only caught half of what was said about Simon rolling his eyes to Chris Richardson. My take on that was when I saw it Tuesday, was that he thought Chris wasn't listening to him as Chris went on to give a shout out to all at Virginia Tech. Personally, I didn't take it that he was dissing the VT victims, nor did I think he was rolling his eyes at Paula...It was more of a - "thanks for not listening to my comments"eye roll. I am glad they showed the play by play video to show that he did that before he mentioned VT.

According to DialIdol.com, Phil got the most votes this week. Hmmm. Something smells fishy. I know he was good this week, but I am wondering if VFTW has turned their laser beam to Phil. Really, though, who can they say is really BAD at this point of the game? They are all pretty good in their own genres. But in my heart, I think Melinda has it.

And, yes, Melinda - STOP ACTING SURPRISED! YOU'RE GREAT! :-)

A Belated Wrap up

Well I'm a little late with last week's review of the women on American Idol. They really knocked it out of the park last Wednesday, especially Lakisha Jones. But Melinda Doolittle is right on her heels.

I really don't know how Antonella is still around. That was just wrong. Granted, I didn't see those girls who were voted off lasting too much longer, but they definitely had a better run than Antonella. I guess we shall see what happens tomorrow night with the girls. Will they have a show as good as last week?

Tonight, I had to agree with the judges about Sanjaya. He's gotta step it up and actually sing. I know he has the voice. He apparently has the popularity.

Season Six!

Well it has officially started. American Idol, Season 6 is on it's way and already I see the favoritism starting. Was Sanjaya THAT bad? Sure, it probably wasn't the best song to choose, but I believe he did Stevie Wonder proud. His voice was "spot-on" as Paula Abdul loves to say - but she couldn't quite muster up the words for him. I can't believe they were able to say anything good about shoeless Paul Kim.

My top three picks for the guys are beat-boxer Blake Lewis, shy Sanjaya, and new dad, Phil Stacey. Runner ups are Hurley from LOST, oops, no, that's Chris Sligh. Chris Richardson was pretty good but not too memorable of a person. And I think Sundance will be dancing stage left. What happened to "better than Taylor Hicks" Simon? heh... And down they fall.

...and what's up with Britney Spears?

My first video uploaded to YouTUBE!

This was taken at an airshow a couple of years ago which shows a B1 bomber flying by low and fast. All I have to say is one word: LOUD.

Playing catch up

I missed my post on last week's elimination of Ace. I wasn't too surprised to see him go - but what I was surprised about was that Chris was actually in the bottom three. Was it his song choice? Is it people thinking that he's safe enough that you don't have to vote for him? Who knows.

This week we saw Kelly go. I will miss her cute little sayings as much as anyone else. But I think it was time for her to go. We had a country girl win last year. No need for that again this year! Haha.

Taylor still amazes me. He is the only one that has yet to dip in the bottom. No matter what the judges say, I think he is doing awesome and staying in his style each and every week - just as Chris has. I really think it's going to come down to those two in the end.

Rod Week

I really liked this week's performances from almost everyone. I think even Kelly Pickler's fans would agree that she didn't do too well this week. Ace was his so-so self, lacking any kind of personality as usual. Taylor's song was good but repetitive.

Now what shocked me was that Chris finally dipped into the bottom three. I think that makes Taylor the only one that hasn't been there yet. Maybe Kelly too? I can't remember now. If she hasn't, it's only because of votefortheworst.com is helping her out. So remember people, if you really want someone to stay - VOTE for them!!!

Next week's selection looks like it will be a bit sappy. Who will go next!?

Karaoke Queen Night

Well OF COURSE it's going to sound like Karaoke when you make the theme for the week Queen songs! What are the producers of American Idol even thinking? For the best group so far, they are sure giving them the lousiest choices to choose from. No offense to Stevie, or anyone for that matter - but confining them to one artist instead of a whole genre is stupid. Even though I hate country, that at least was a genre! The night they did music from the past six years was also not that bad. But when they start focusing on one artist, what are you going to expect to get in return?

Ace, by far, was probably the worst last night. And no matter what Simon says, I think Taylor ripped it up really good. I'm glad he changed his selection. Elliot did great and I even think Bucky wasn't too bad.

Now as for Kelly. I really don't know what I can say. It wasn't that bad, but it was just not the song for her. But as Randy said, she worked it out - and I agree - she did what she could with what was given to her.

Did anyone else see Mandisa sitting at the practice sessions with Queen? What was that about? Or do they practice well in advance before they are voted off? And what was Fantasia's big head doing in the audience? Shouldn't she be out making records? I have yet to hear anything from her.

Ok, that's my American Idol rant for the day. Ace is my pick to leave. I have no idea who else will join him... Paris again? Katherine again? Who knows.

Words Can't Describe...

...what I am feeling right now. I knew that Mandisa might dip in there but after seeing Elliot and Paris along side her - I figured it would be her. I think there is an effect going on here; that when someone gets into the bottom three one week, they get a surge of votes the next week - no matter how well they sing. Ace and Katherine must have got a boost of votes and everyone forgot about Elliot and Paris. Did they do so bad to warrent them to be in the basement this week? I don't think so. That's why I think that formula is correct. And the same is true for Mandisa. It was definitely not her time to go yet. I really thought she would have been up there in the top 5 zone at least.

This is a crazy year on A.I. What will happen next? Who knows...that's why I keep watching!

Season 5

Well it's about time I started posting something about American Idol. It's down to the top 9 with Lisa, Kevin, and Melissa out of the running. I really can't see who's going home tonight. The odds are probably in favor of Ace going home since he's dipped into the bottom the most - but that sometimes doesn't mean anything. Lisa's votes will be distributed among the rest so that will upset the figures as well. I will put a prediction out there that it will be Ace, Mandisa, and Bucky. My top 4 pick is Chris, Elliot, Paris, and Katherine. I love Taylor and Kelly but I just don't see them making it for the long haul.

This year's season has seen a lot of talent - except for Brenna. (Please don't come back!) I am sure we will see many of them doing something with music or television in the months and years to come.

I apologize for not making any more buddy icons. School will soon be over for me in June. So when I can, I'll make some more - pending I don't receive a cease and desist notice from the Fox network.

Have fun watching the results show tonight! Who's going home? We'll see...

Long time No Type

Wow - An entire season of American Idol flew by (which I think was almost as good as Season 2) without me hardly pounding out a simple review. Well, I am not sure if anyone is reading this anyway, and if you were - you are definitely not now. I will try and make it up to you by posting more and creating more A.I. Season 4 icons. I never ask for anything in return for the icons except a click on our sponsors.

Getting back to American Idol, from the way it looks now, Bo is beating Carrie in the race on the charts. According to Amazon.com, Bo ranks #21 and Carrie is at #48. I guess we'll see what happens as time goes by. I am sure those two and many of the top 10 will do just fine.

So, while American Idol is on vacation - I'll have to come up with something to talk about in the mean time. Until then, have fun!

American Idol - Judgement Day

I will probably be asking the same question everyone else is: “What kind of circus are they trying to run this year?” I mean, are they trying to see if anyone goes into cardiac arrest on the stage? I thought it was very unfair for Ryan to tell the guys on the lower half that they were safe – and then go through an entire monkey-routine before fingering Judd as the one who is going home.

It’s too bad to see Sarah go so soon. I thought that Janay or Celena would be next to go. I didn’t find it hard to believe that Melinda was going home. I had not heard of her until last night, so of course, the American Idol moguls are once again playing with the people and steering the votes.

Well, at least now everyone is on an equal playing field and can win people over with how they sound. Let’s hope!

If you would like to see any AIM ICONS for this year’s season contestants, let me know who you want to see.

By the skin of their teeth...

Well, tonight's AI was very interesting. (By the way, thank you, FOX, for airing the show at 9 pm after LOST was over with on ABC.) I still would like to see more singing of accepted people getting through rather than the soap opera of who's not practicing and who got lost on their way to the audition. I can't help to believe that this footage is used later on in the contest to sway votes a certain way.

All I have to say about tonight's show is that those three guys are very very lucky. I knew that those guys could sing - but they really choked when it came time to audition their song. I guess only time will tell as to how they will progress.

Game On!

Wow - How did I let 6 months go without posting a thing? Well, I don't think anyone is listening, but I might as well post something for the people that pass by for an icon or two.

Well, tonight's show was quite funny. I missed the first half hour, but I got it on tape - so I'll have to watch that later. I really had wished that they showed more people that made it, rather than of the ones they put there on purpose who are tone deaf. Do these people not have friends that tell them how they really sound? Or maybe they are tone deaf as well and are not able to tell them the truth because they couldn't hit a note from two feet away either?

I have to say, living only 30 or so miles from Syracuse, NY, I felt like the girl from there was from my own home-town. I am glad she got through and hope she makes it through the next grooling rounds that await her in Hollywood. I am so bad with names - I forgot what her name was.

And how about that crazy "Tomorrow" singer? LOL. Was he nuts or what? No, I know who was nuts - the psycho blonde girl in the white pants. Wow. I hope she was serious about giving up singing. Again, here we have another victim from friends not telling their friends that they can't sing. Please - if you have a friend who can't sing, for goodness sakes, TELL THEM! :-)
